Since the summer of 1987, UNDIVIDED has answered the call of God upon our lives by sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through music. In a musical style ranging from New Southern Gospel to Inspirational Praise & Worship, we have been privileged to minister throughout the southeastern United States. To our many friends and family who have encouraged, supported and prayed for us over the years, THANK YOU for your faithfulness and friendship. In reality, your effect on this ministry cannot be put into these two words to adequately express the deep love we have for you, or the joy we experience each time we are together.
Our mission is to help people realize the fundamental truth that our relationships with family, friends, and Jesus Christ are the most important foundations of life. This is God’s desire for us…that when we strive each day to help one another and share the good news of Christ, at the end of the day we can rest knowing that, no matter where we are, as Christ-followers we are never apart!
Music has always been an important part of my life. Not only singing and playing, but every aspect of it, especially harmonies. I grew up in a Christian home with wonderful godly parents who encouraged me to pursue my love of music. I sang in choirs and performing groups at church and college never realizing how God was going to use this in my life. I accepted Christ when I was 11 years old and sailed along through my teens and early adult years, having what I considered a respectable relationship with the Lord. In September of 1978, after two years of college, I married my high school sweetheart, Les (who is my very best friend on this earth and the love of my life!), and my pursuit of music was put on hold as we began to build our life together. God has a way of working even when we don’t see it, and He began to bring people and experiences into my life that were shaping me for what was about to happen. It was also during this time that I began to realize Who God is, and what I am without Him. The “respectable” relationship I had with Him was shallow at best, and through a series of events that He allowed to come into my life, my eyes and heart were finally opened to His amazing grace toward me. The Lord was also working in Les’s life, and in April of 1986, we truly surrendered our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Talk about freedom!
In July of 1987, Undivided was born and life has not been the same since! What a journey God is taking us on! I look back over the past 29 years and marvel at His goodness. He has given us a precious daughter, Jessica, who is the joy of our life. Our favorite time spent is with each other as a family, or with close friends. We love St. George Island, Disney World and the mountains…..in any order, at any time of the year!
I am so thankful that God has allowed me to be a part of His work through Undivided. His blessings are too numerous to count, the joys too deep to be properly expressed in mere words. How overwhelming to know that, through Christ, I will be able to “sing of His love forever…”
“My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.” (Psalm 57:7)
“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?” (Romans 10:14)
“Oh, my Lord what a time” …God has been so good to me through the years. As I look back on my life, I see His hand all over me, even when I didn’t know He was there. I was born and raised in Panama City, though sometimes I feel like I was born at Northside Baptist Church. My family went to church every Sunday, Wednesday and any other time the doors were open. I learned the importance of a good church family early in life. I grew up in a home where Jesus was taught and talked about all the time. As a young girl, at the age of nine, I gave my heart to my Heavenly Father while my earthly daddy led me through the sinner’s prayer. I can always remember being a part of the music programs at church and at school. I didn’t realize the talent God had given me at the time; I just thought the teachers liked me because I sang out….LOUD!
Little did I know what God had in store for me. Believe it or not, I met my husband, Mike, 28 years ago (I know I don’t look that old) at Northside Baptist, the church we’re still members of today. Shortly after we started dating, he introduced me to a girl he worked with who also sang. To my surprise, it was someone I knew from my childhood, who had also grown up at Northside several years ahead of me. Her name was Brenda Paris. As we got reacquainted, I learned she and her husband, Les, went to a sister church where she sang quite often with a guy by the name of Tommy Childs. Feeling God’s tug on our hearts, we all got together to “sing a little”and God blessed that meeting into a ministry. Even though we’ve been through many changes since then, God still continues to bless and even surprise us. In January of 2006, Tommy left the group and while he can’t be replaced, God sent us Dan Davis and a new chapter of Undivided began.
God has been so good to me! His grace is abundant and His mercy is everlasting!
As I look back, I can see how He has directed my life from the beginning, steering and guiding me even when I was unaware. For as long as I can remember (and I can’t remember much) music has been a major part of my life. I enjoyed singing when I was a child, but it was after I accepted Christ as Lord of my life in the spring of 1973 at the age of 16, that I began to realize that I was able to use my love for singing to express my love for my Heavenly Father. How amazing it is to be able to serve and worship a loving God by using a medium that brings so much joy.
But that’s just how God is!
In 1975, I was introduced to a beautiful young lady and it soon became apparent that “we were meant to be”. In Nov. of 77, Lynne made my life complete by saying “I do” and many years later, she is just as beautiful and I am just as convinced, that we were meant to walk this path together. She will always be the love of my life.
